My 8 year old LOVES Snoop Troops. Although Nelson effectively provides deep insight into Guatemala and indigenous affairs there, she interjected to much "I" into the work. After unsing it for a semester, I have found it has definate strong points (good diagrams, lots of example problems throughout the text) however, this doesn't make up for how how complicated Hecht makes simple concepts sound. His book is refreshingly short, simple and to the point, without the fluff. In this regard, the book is well-suited as an introductory textbook.
Many of the excerpts, however, are exceedingly short and do not present much depth or flavor of each philosopher's thought. By ignoring half of the issue, McGovern abandons a reasoned, balanced appraisal in favor of blind ideology and wishful thinking.
